Leilani KBF

Westfalen: DE 441416003317

Born May 13, 2017, Leilani KBF (aka "Leia") is a stunning bay filly by the Oldenburg stallion Lestat and out of our top-producing thoroughbred mare Cody's Kisses. Leia exhibits all of the best qualities of a warmblood x TB cross: she has lovely conformation and lots of suspension, and she also shows a very natural athleticism. She has legs for days, lofty and balanced gaits, and enough bling to make her stand out against any competition. As an added bonus, Leia has a rare "wild bay" coat color which makes her appear almost as a buckskin rather than a bay. Leia will definitely stand out in the show ring!

Leia was bred to be an eventer, but her movement is flawless, and I feel confident she could clean up as a straight dressage horse too. Leia is sensitive and thoughtful, and she should be suitable for an amateur or a pro. Leia should mature to 16.2h easily, if not taller.

Leia is approved/branded Westfalen, and she is also microchipped and carries a lifetime USEF registration.

FOR SALE: $12,000

Leilani's bloodlines combine to offer an athlete who should be equally talented as a jumper, hunter, or eventer. Her sire Lestat is a beautiful, typey stallion, with excellent rideablity, elastic movement, and a scopey jump. He was highly regarded while showing in Germany, having placed very high in both the 5 and 6 year old Bundeschampionat competitions, which is a huge honor.

Lestat's sire, Lordanos, is considered an important foundation sire, and in 2013 he was named Top Jumper Sire of the Year in the US. He won more than 40 competitions, and is known to pass on extreme rideability in addition to top athleticism.

Through her dam Cody's Kisses, Leia's thoroughbred ancestry is also chock full of exceptional athletes. Her grandsire Corporate Report won more than $1 million on the track, including placing second in the 1991 Preakness Stakes and winning the Travers Stakes. His great-grandsire (Cody's damsire) Cryptoclearance won more than $3 million on the track, having won 12 of his 44 starts, including placing fourth in the 1987 Kentucky Derby, third in the Preakness Stakes, and second in the Belmont Stakes.
