RPSI: DE 451516403012 / Gold premium,
score = 8.4 Astra KBF is a 2012 filly by the gorgeous Bavarian warmblood
stallion Apiro
out of the lovely thoroughbred mare Cody's Kisses.
A chestnut with tons of chrome, Astra was a strong foal, walking
within 30 minutes. By 12 hours old, she was galloping laps around
the field while her mom tried to keep up! We expect this robust
little lady to be athletic enough to do anything asked of her, but
she should be especially talented as a jumper/eventer. Considering
the length of her legs, we anticipate Astra maturing to at least
16.1h - if not much taller!
Astra was presented to the RPSI registry as a 3
month old on August 7, 2012, and she earned glowing reviews from
the judge, scoring a whopping 8.4, earning a GOLD PREMIUM rating,
and winning the high score of the day!
UPDATE: After the RPSI inspection results,
we are thrilled to announce that Astra tied for the 2nd highest
score in the NATION for 2012! We are so proud of our girl!
The judge commented that her front end is gorgeous, her movement
elastic, and that she is the perfect example of what can come from
breeding Apiro to a top quality thoroughbred mare like Cody's Kisses
(who also earned her Main Mare Book RPSI papers with a Premium distinction)!
We are so proud of both of our girls!
This lucky little girl was sold ON THE
DAY SHE WAS BORN to a wonderful rider who hopes to
compete her at Grand Prix someday!!! We look forward to their exciting
future together!
Astra's bloodlines combine some of Europe's finest warmblood jumping horses with some of America's most talented race horses. Her sire Apiro is a striking 16.3h Bavarian warmblood stallion who was bred in Germany where he competed in the 5 year old Bundeschampionat. Apiro was Reserve Champion of his 30 day stallion test, earning an 8.51 overall (8.86 for jumping, 7.99 for dressage).

Apiro's sire is the legendary Argentinus, a Grand Prix show jumper who for 7 years led the FN statistics for his age group for the prize money earned by his progeny, with offspring competing internationally in both jumping and dressage. Additionally, Apiro offers more jumping royalty in his pedigree through his damsire, the Westphalian stallion Pilot, who was the first showjumping stallion with progeny to earn 1 million Deutschmarks.

Her grandsire Corporate Report won more than $1 million on the track, including placing second in the 1991 Preakness Stakes and winning the Travers Stakes. Her great-grandsire (Cody's damsire) Cryptoclearance won more than $3 million on the track, having won 12 of his 44 starts, including placing fourth in the 1987 Kentucky Derby, third in the Preakness Stakes, and second in the Belmont Stakes.
