OldNA 840017 33-10142-13
Born May 21, 2013, Whitman KBF is a chestnut colt by the
Elite Hanoverian stallion Worthy
Opponent and out of our top-producing thoroughbred mare Cody's
Kisses. Whitman is a modern and typey foal with long legs, and
we expect him to mature to 17h+. He has a lovely shoulder and hip,
and he also demonstrates an outstanding trot with tons of power.
Sweet and affectionate, but with just enough sensitivity for an
ambitious rider, we feel confident that this colt can take a serious
rider very far in the dressage or eventing arenas.
Whitman (and his TB dam) were presented to OldNA;
his dam was accepted into the Main Mare Book, and Whitman received
fantastic comments from the judge and was branded/registered OldNA.
SOLD to Amy in Aiken, SC!!! Congrats!!!
Whitman's bloodlines combine to offer an athlete
who should be equally talented as jumper, eventer, or dressage prospect.
His sire
Worthy Opponent was bred to be a dressage mount, but he shocked
everyone when he also showed a high aptitude for jumping. He completed
his stallion testing in 2007 with an impressive 135.2 overall, earning
him the High Scoring Hanoverian award and winning the jumping portion
of the test. He is now a successful event horse. In addition to
his athleticism, Worthy Opponent is also known as a gentleman, having
been raised, trained, and competed largely by amateurs. He is known
to produce foals who have his sweet demeanor and, as a result, his
foals are all very amateur friendly. Worthy Opponent recently completed
his first 2-star event and finished in the top 10.
Worthy Opponent is by Waikiki
(a celebrated son of the legendary Weltmeyer).
At his 1999 performance test in Adelheidsdorf, Waikiki scored a
143.08 for dressage and was 2nd in dressage, finishing 3rd overall
(of 33), also proving his ability as both a dressage and jumping
stallion.

Worthy Opponent also hails from a strong
damline - his dam, granddam, and great granddam were all States
Premium mares. His dam Hoheit earned her States Premium title by
the young age of 4, earning 9s in rideability and jumping at her
testing. Hoheit is by the 2002 Trakehner Stallion of the Year Hohenstein
(by Caprimond).
Worthy Opponent's damsire, Hohenstein (deceased)
Worthy Opponent's best crosses have been out of
thoroughbred mares, and this is why we bred him to Cody's
Kisses. In 2012, Cody was presented to the RPSI and was entered
into the Main Mare Book with a Premium mare distinction, and her
2012 filly Astra KBF (by
Apiro) scored an 8.4 overall and was the second highest scoring
filly in the nation. Cody produces TOP QUALITY sporthorses, and
we feel confident that Whitman will follow in his big sister's footsteps.
Through his dam, Whitman's thoroughbred ancestry
is also chock full of exceptional athletes. His grandsire Corporate
Report won more than $1 million on the track, including placing
second in the 1991 Preakness Stakes and winning the Travers Stakes.
His great-grandsire (Cody's damsire) Cryptoclearance
won more than $3 million on the track, having won 12 of his 44 starts,
including placing fourth in the 1987 Kentucky Derby, third in the
Preakness Stakes, and second in the Belmont Stakes.
