Breeding Philosophy
We strive to produce quality sporthorses who are friendly
enough for amateurs to handle but fully capable enough to meet the
expectations and athletic demands of a pro. Our broodmares and foals
are raised entirely outside (with 24/7 access to shelter), and each
of our foals is handled extensively, starting at the first few moments
of life. By weaning (generally at 6 months old), each foal knows how
to halter, lead, bathe, stand for the farrier, and load safely on
a trailer (and eat cookies and demand scratches!) Further, we cover
all de-worming, farrier (normal trimming), and mortality insurance
costs while the foal is by its mother's side. We also love to take
pictures/video, so you will receive regular photo updates of your
new baby.
Adoption Program
We understand that our horses are among the
'lucky ones'. They are well bred, athletic, and they require a substantial
financial investment to purchase. Therefore, the odds are in their
favor that they will live a generally healthy life. However, most
horses do not have such luxuries, so we're making it a business
goal to rescue, rehab, and rehome as many horses/ponies as our time/resources
allow. Our adoption offerings will have a current Coggins, all vaccinations,
and recent dental/farrier work. Adopters must provide vet references,
facility pictures, and agree that you will not sell the horse to anyone
else without our permission.

Diamond Rio KBF
This gentle and handsome dark bay gelding
has all the makings of a top sporthorse as well as a best friend.
Diamond Rio is a puppy-dog gentle, super ammy-friendly 2017 colt
by the stunning Oldenburg stallion Diamond
Stud (deceased) and is out of the beautiful Westfalen mare Moulin
Rouge d'Avalon. Rio was bred as a dressage prospect, but his
dam line also contains many successful jumper horses, and his dam
Mia is heading into a hunter career, so Rio should be able to do
a little bit of everything. Rio is as kindhearted and friendly as
a young horse can be - he's safe for the whole family! Rio was gelded
just before his 1st birthday, and he is now ready to go to his forever
home. Rio is microchipped, registered Westfalen, and has a lifetime
registration with the USEF. Gelded as of April 2018.
(SOLD! Congrats Rachael!)

Savannah KBF
KB Farm is proud to offer Savannah KBF to
some lucky buyer! We adore this filly, but we have already retained
her sister for future breeding purposes, so weve decided to
offer her to the perfect competitive dressage home. Born April 14,
2016, Savannah is a bay filly by the chestnut Oldenburg stallion
Sir
Gregory (Sir Donnerhall x Don Gregory) and is out of our Hanoverian
mare Wienna SH (Wolkenglanz x Wuemmestern).
Savannah's movement is fluid and elastic, and her temperament is
remarkably sweet and amateur friendly. Savannah will be tall (16.2h+)
and is of substantial build with good bone and feet. She adores
human interaction (mutually grooming is her favorite!), and she
is bold and curious. Her legs are straight and her neck/back conformation
are well-suited for dressage. She has an uphill build and very good
"sit" ability - her canter is just lovely with a very
active and reaching hind leg! Savannah could also be a top notch
broodmare in the future.
(SOLD! Congrats Lyn!)

Dublin KBF - 2013 Colt
Wienna
gave us a gorgeous chestnut colt (with a PERFECT star) by Dacaprio
on April 21, 2013. Dublin combines the legendary dressage bloodlines
of Donnerhall and Weltmeyer. He is very correct with lofty, balanced
gaits, and he has a temperament that is hard to beat. He ADORES
humans, and he is a delight to handle - definitely amateur friendly.
Dublin is registered and branded
with the American Hanoverian Society, and he received glowing remarks
from the judges on his conformation, walk, and canter.

Henry
(Adopted!)
Gray pony gelding - approx. 41" tall and 10-ish
years old
On October 10, 2012, I stumbled on Henry while scouting out a farm
that I suspected might not be providing sufficient food for horses
(based on craigslist images). When I got to the farm, I found Henry
in very poor condition, and I talked the owner into selling him
to me. After a trip to the vet and a visit from the farrier, Henry
is recovering nicely. He's putting on weight quickly, gets along
well with big and small horses, and is learning to trust and seek
human interaction. He will make a great companion for a big or small
horse, and he also has riding experience with small children.
ADOPTED!! Henry has found a wonderful new forever home on
a family farm in Waynesboro, Georgia! I delivered him to the family
(and their excited 4 year old daughter) on Christmas Eve!

Astra KBF - 2012 Filly
Cody's Kisses
gave us a gorgeous, leggy chestnut filly by Apiro
on April 26, 2012. This lively filly combines the jumping and dressage
talents of her sire (the son of the legendary Argentinus
and grandson of Pilot),
and the athleticism and endurance of her multimillionaire thoroughbred
heritage. Astra was sold on the day she was born, and her new owner
plans to show her in dressage. Astra was presented to RPSI and earned
the incredible score of 8.4, GOLD PREMIUM status, giving her the
highest score of the day, and she was the second highest scoring
filly of the entire 2012 RPSI tour!
